Caça menor

Uma viagem de caça inesquecível no Québec

Saint-Jean lake, located in the Greater Snow Goose and Canada Goose migration corridor, is the first and the largest fall staging and feeding area from their breeding location in northern Canada.

We hunt waterfowl (the iconic Greater Snow Goose, the Canada Goose and other migrating waterfowl game) mainly early in the morning on farmland, marshes, rivers, in layout blinds, dug  or natural caches (hedges, ditches…).

Bearspirit Outfitters has exclusive access to the best private fields. The quality of hunt is ensured by daily scouting to ensure high successful outcome.

Each hunting group is accompanied by a professional guide who masters both natural and artificial calling. Several hundred decoys are used to attract as many birds as possible. For this kind of hunting, we recommend .12/76 or .12/89 gauge shotguns. The use of non-toxic shot is compulsory.

Little known and not coveted in the province, Saint-Jean lake area offers first-class biotope for the scolopax minor, better known as the American woodcock. It is often confused with its cousin, the common snipe, because it is smaller than the European woodcock (scolopax rusticola). It is not unusual to see more than 20 woodcock rises per day. You will be also able to harvest the ruffed grouse (bonasa umbellus), the spruce grouse (falcipennis canadensis) and snowshoe hares. We strongly recommend that you come with your dog(s) to enjoy a successful hunt.

It is your dream to attend the magnificent and fascinating migration spectacle, we will do everything possible to ensure that your hunt at Bearspirit Outfitters will be successful and unforgettable.
